Great thoughts, Patrick. It's certainly something I wrestle with all the time. I just err a little more on the cautious side. But regarding your thoughts on memories, I sometimes find myself confusing events that happened in my fiction with my own life -- which certainly makes it challenging when I'm writing the family newsletter...

You know, I struggled with this one at first. But then I thought, what is privacy?

I suspect that my photos of my son playing soccer or fishing is rather uninteresting to most people, but I post them anyway. If I was talking to a stranger on a plane - I would probably tell them that I took my son fishing that weekend and show them photos on my phone. I've essentially told them nothing other than I enjoy spending time with my son and that I think he is the coolest person in the world.

I do avoid posting photos of other people's children from these events, because I know that there are people who are concerned about privacy and I certainly respect that.

It's an interesting time. I remember in high school, I was at my buddies house and his dad put in my friend's PeeWee football game tape where he scored several times or something. My friend noted it was odd that his memories of the game were more from a third person perspective of watching the tape than the actual game. I've always found that comment fascinating.
